Bring your A-game and be ready to have some fun – all in support of a good cause! The Emily K Center Cornhole Tournament is a friendly indoor competition for players of all ages and skill levels. We’ll have prizes, food from Bull City Burger & Brewery, music, and more! Bring your family, friends, and colleagues and sign up to give us your best toss. The Center is wholly donor funded and all proceeds from the Cornhole Tournament will support our students and their educational ambitions.
Tournament Information
The 2024 Emily K Center Cornhole Tournament will take place at 904 W. Chapel Hill Street on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Check-in opens at 9:00 a.m. and bags fly at 10:00 a.m.!
This year’s tournament will have a Competitive Bracket and a Casual Bracket. Teams can choose to compete in one bracket. The tournament will feature round robin play (minimum 3 rounds), followed by a single elimination final for the top 16 teams in each bracket. We’re excited to partner with professional tournament organizer, Gidget Carpenter, to make sure the tournament runs smoothly and everyone has a fantastic time! REGISTRATION
Early bird registration ended on Friday, August 9. Registration is now $125 per Competitive team and $85 per Casual team. Walk-up registration on August 24 will be accommodated if space is available at $150/Competitive and $100/Casual.
PRIZES
- Competitive Bracket: Championship team will receive a $500 cash prize ($250 per player), second-place team will receive a $200 cash prize ($100 per player), and third-place team will receive gift cards and other non-cash prizes.
- Casual Bracket: First, second, and third-place winners will receive gift cards, Emily K Center swag, and other non-monetary prizes.
You don’t have to play to enjoy the fun! All are welcome to hang out, watch the tournament, eat, and enjoy a beer.

FAQs
Where can I park? –
Parking is available at and around the Center. Click here to view a parking map.
Can I bring my own bags and board? –
All players must use the boards provided at the tournament. Players may bring and use their own bags, but not required.
Can I register my team the day of the event? –
Walk-up registration on August 24 will be accommodated if space is available at $150/Competitive team and $100/Casual team. However, we strongly encourage all teams to pre-register. You’ll get a discount on registration AND it will help make sure we have enough boards and bags ready to go!
Can I be matched with a partner if I do not have one? –
This is a bring-your-own-partner event, so please sign up with your teammate. We will not be pairing partners at the tournament.
Am I guaranteed an event day T-shirt? –
Due to time constraints for placing T-shirt orders, anyone who registers AFTER August 7 will not be guaranteed an event day T-shirt.
Will the event be rescheduled if it rains? –
The event will take place rain or shine! The tournament and vendors will be inside the Center’s gym.
Is the registration fee refundable? –
Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund once your team has been registered. However, we can switch out players if someone on your team can no longer make it. Please notify us of any changes prior to the event day.
How will prize money be dispersed to the winners? –
Prize money will be paid in the form of one $250 check per player for the championship competitive team and $100 check per player for the second-place competitive team. All other winners will receive non-monetary prizes.
