Emily K Center Launches #TakeYourBestShot Challenge

February 19, 2021

On Friday, February 19, 2021, the Emily Krzyzewski Center, in partnership with SECU Family House of Chapel Hill and the Velle Cares Foundation, launched the #TakeYourBestShot social media fundraising challenge, sponsored by the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin. To celebrate March Madness and raise important funds, the three nonprofits will “compete” against each other and encourage their supporters and the broader community to support them through the social media fundraiser.

Each nonprofit is encouraging people to participate by filming their best trick basketball shot (or any other kind of “shot”) and posting it on social media using the hashtag #TakeYourBestShot. Participants will then pick their “starting lineup,” tagging five friends in their post and challenging them to create their own “#TakeYourBestShot” video and/or give to their chosen nonprofit. Participants are also encouraged to share posts from social media channels to help spread the word.

Kicking off the campaign for the Emily K Center is Nolan Smith, Center Board Member and Director of Basketball Operations for Duke Men’s Basketball. Tagged by Smith and encouraged to take on the challenge on behalf of the Center are the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin, WNCN Chief Meteorologist Wes Hohenstein, fellow Board Member Jamie Spatola and her husband and ESPN personality Chris Spatola, fellow former Duke Basketball player Quinn Cook, and Emily K Center students.

Emily K Center Executive Director Adam Eigenrauch is enthusiastic about the challenge, “We hope that this new initiative will present a fun challenge for members of our community, and we’re excited to join with the Velle Cares Foundation and SECU Family House in raising awareness about our collective efforts. We hope that everyone will rally around this cause and take their best shot.” For more information on the challenge, please visit www.takeyourbestshot.org.
