Bull City in Black: HBCU Showcase will take place on February 7th, 2026 from 12 pm – 3 pm.

BULL CITY IN BLACK: HBCU Showcase celebrates the history and enduring legacy of historically black colleges and universities from across the state and region. The Emily K Center hosts representatives and student organizations from HBCUs who share information about admissions opportunities. There are also workshops covering topics such as financial aid, first-gen student experience, resume support, and more!

This event is FREE and open to all — high school students and their families are strongly encouraged to attend. Bull City in Black 2026 will take place on February 7th! Registration now available here.

Parking

Parking for Bull City in Black is available at the Immaculata Catholic School parking lot and in surrounding neighborhoods.

2026 Partners

100 Black Men of Triangle East is a nonprofit organization, with the mission to improve the lives of Black youth in North Carolina (particularly in Wake and Durham counties).  Trained mentors serve as role models for youth in grades 6–12, ushering them through programs that focus on health and wellness, education, and economic empowerment.

Thomas Mentor Leadership Academy

The mission of Thomas Mentor Leadership Academy is to LOVE, lead, guide and mentor males between the ages of 7 & 18 who are being raised by a single parent or their grandparent(s). 

St. Joseph AME Church

St. Joseph African Methodist Episcopal Church was established in 1869, as a congregation affiliated with the connectional African Methodist Episcopal Church (AMEC), the oldest predominately black, Protestant denomination in existence. The AMEC traces its origins back to the Free African Society of 1787, a faith-based, self-help organization that led to the establishment of the AMEC with Richard Allen becoming its first elected and consecrated bishop.
