It’s always incredible to see where our students end up, but it is particularly joyful when they decide to return to the Emily K Center as staff members. Toni started with Scholars to College in 2014 as a sophomore in high school before moving on to Scholars on Campus. These programs helped her set goals, develop leadership skills, and flourish academically.

Toni recently returned to the Emily K Center as a part-time Program Operations Assistant. She shared “when I came back, I did not expect for people to remember me the way that they did… and that really made me immediately fall back into place. That was so comforting.”

Currently, Toni is a senior at the University of North Carolina Greensboro majoring in Sociology and African American Studies. We are so grateful that she is a part of the Emily K Center community! Learn more about Toni in the video below.
