August 26, 2026

The Emily Krzyzewski Center is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Iwinosa Idahor and Michael Clawar to our Board of Directors.

“We are honored to welcome these new members to our Board of Directors,” says Dr. Valerie Anderson, Chief Executive Officer. “Iwinosa and Michael each bring unique skills, expertise, and passion for the work of the Emily K Center. We are immensely grateful for their eagerness to share their time and talents to support the Center and our students.”

Dr. Iwinosa Idahor serves in Durham Public Schools’ Office of Continuous Improvement and School Support, where she collaborates with stakeholders to design, implement, and evaluate student and teacher-focused initiatives, professional learning, and community engagement efforts that foster inclusivity and quality student experiences. Her more than 15 years in education span K-12 and higher education settings, and she is a strategic leader with Durham Public Schools’ Beginning Teacher Support & Development program. A longtime Center volunteer, Dr. Idahor has served on the Programs Committee and supported community events. In 2025, she received the Center’s Volunteer Service Award.

Michael Clawar is Senior Vice President of Innovation at Altus Group, where he leads the company’s AI/ML and data science strategy for the commercial real estate sector. Prior to joining Altus Group, Michael founded StratoDem Analytics, a data science platform serving major commercial real estate investors, which was acquired by Altus Group in 2021. Michael and his wife, Jenna McChesney, first connected with the Emily K Center as donors in 2021, joined the Advancement Committee in 2025, and became active volunteers for Center events. Together, they also support The V Foundation for Cancer Research and other Triangle-area nonprofits.
