Director of Communications and External Affairs

Postsecondary Access Advisor (PT and FT Positions Available)
We’re looking to fill two exciting roles within our Game Plan: College team and are hiring for both a full-time and part-time Postsecondary Access Advisor. Postsecondary Access Advisors are responsible for supporting the execution of the Game Plan: College service delivery model, which includes delivery of curriculum-based workshops, individualized (1:1) advising services, and collaborative planning and execution of events designed to build and strengthen a college-going culture at Durham’s public high schools and within partner organizations. Working with a collaborative team, our Postsecondary Access Advisors are critical to the development of a systematic approach to ensuring all high school students, and especially those furthest removed from opportunity, have access to quality postsecondary advising and support. Senior Director of Program Operations
We’re looking for an experienced programming professional with interest and experience in educational access and equity for our newly created position of Senior Director of Program Operations. This position will be a key member of the Emily K Center’s leadership team, providing direction and support for the highest quality implementation of the Center’s four programs: Pioneer Scholars, Scholars to College, Game Plan: College, and Scholars on Campus. College Readiness Counselor
The Scholars to College program is hiring! Are you passionate about working alongside talented high school students who dream of being the first in their families to complete college in an organization that is committed to educational equity and access? Would you feel energized providing academic coaching and counseling to a cohort of up to 36 high school students? College Success Advisor
We’re looking for our next College Success Advisor to support our Scholars on Campus program. Ideal candidates will be passionate about working with students as they transition from high school to college and supporting them through their college matriculation to ensure they have the resources needed to persist to graduation. The College Success Advisor provides individualized academic, financial, personal, and career guidance, and assists students to connect to and fully leverage their campus-based resources in order to meet their college and career goals. Pioneer Scholars Lead Tutor
Do you have a passion for teaching elementary and middle school students and making learning fun? Are you great at building relationships with students and their parents and caregivers? Would you be excited to help develop curriculum that supports the development of academic skills and habits that will help students who are traditionally underrepresented in higher education prepare for long-term academic success?
