College Readiness Counselor

The Emily K Center’s Scholars to College program is recruiting a College Readiness Counselor to lead the class of 2023 through its cohort-based model of college readiness and access. Reporting to the Associate Director of College Readiness, the College Readiness Counselor will develop and deliver an array supports in the areas of academic, career, social and personal leadership development in an environment of creativity and innovation alongside colleagues who are committed to the holistic success of Durham’s youth. Click here for the full job description and application instructions.

Postsecondary Access Adviser

The Emily K Center’s Game Plan: College program is committed to serving Durham’s youth through high-quality postsecondary information, resources, and support. We are hiring two, full-time postsecondary advisers who will work in close partnership with Durham’s high schools and youth-serving community-based organizations to provide students with college access services designed to help them connect to their best-fit postsecondary option. Click here for the full job description and application instructions.

Student Resource and Support Manager

We are looking for an eager and experienced case management social worker to join us in our work of supporting students to access and thrive in the futures they envision. Our part-time Student Resource and Support Manager will have the responsibility of working collaboratively with program leaders and staff to implement activities designed to strengthen students’ socioemotional skills, as well as helping students and families navigate barriers that challenge their full engagement and success through connection to appropriate community-based resourcesClick here for the full job description and application instructions.


Associate Director of Development

Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Associate Director of Development is responsible for the Center’s fundraising events and annual fund management and is a full partner in development efforts across the organization. This key role works as part of a cohesive development team to meet yearly revenue targets and help pursue successful strategies in support of an ongoing comprehensive campaign. Click here for the full job description and application instructions.

Office Assistant

Reporting to the Office and Partnership Manager, the Office Assistant will be responsible for managing the front desk and other entrances to the Center, providing a secure and welcoming environment for participants, staff, and visitors, and ensuring the lockup and safety of the facility.
