The Emily Krzyzewski Center and The Justice Theater Project Present

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

 

August 12, 2010, Durham, NC – The Emily Krzyzewski Center, a learning center that serves high potential, economically disadvantaged students, will present two performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in hip hop style, on Friday, August 13, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, August 14, at 2 p.m., at the Emily K Center, 904 West Chapel Hill Street, Durham.  Performances are free and open to the public.  For more information, call 919-680-0308 or email info@emilyk.org.

The Emily K Center in Durham, NC, hosts a 2-week drama camp every summer, run by The Justice Theater Project of Raleigh.  This year's camp focuses on William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream (adapted by Aurand Harris). 

Enrolled students receive daily training in acting, art, dance, and music, culminating in two performances of an abridged version of the play.

Camper support has been provided by Triangle Community Foundation's Send A Kid To Camp Program as well as by The Mary Duke Biddle Foundation, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, The Justice Theater Project, Cardinal Gibbons High School, The Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi, and individual donors.
