About the Emily K. Center

Uncommon Giving

WHAT:
Jesse Itzler to present $100,000 at the Duke v. UNC basketball game on February 7th. The money, raised during Jesse's training for the 100-mile marathon, is being donated to The Emily Krzyzewski Family Life Center located in Durham, North Carolina. The center is named after Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski's mother, Emily.

WHO:
Jesse Itzler, co-founder of Marquis Jet and 2006 National 24-hour Run Championship participant, raised more than $1 million while training for the recent marathon. Jesse, a well-known recording artist (for his Billboard Top 100 hit "Shake It" and the New York Knicks' theme song "Go New York Go") and successful entrepreneur (founding Marquis Jet as well as the sports marketing company Alphabet City), surpassed his goal of raising $1 million to distribute among 10 charities. Being a long-time friend of Coach K's, The Emily Krzyzewski Family Life Center was a charity close to Jesse's heart, and an important organization to be recognized as part of his fundraising efforts.
