Now in its seventh year, the Emily Krzyzewski Center’s Mother’s Day Ball has quickly become a premier event in the Triangle area. On May 6, 2017, 500 guests will convene at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club for an evening of fine dining, dancing, and celebrating the Emily K Center. Inspired by Duke Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Krzyzewski’s relationship with his mother, the Mother’s Day Ball is designed to honor the role of family and community in the development of today’s youth.
Tickets for this premier Durham event are available for $250 per person or $3,000 for a table of ten with preferred seating. All tickets include a cocktail hour at 6:00 p.m., seated dinner, dancing, and entertainment until midnight. Proceeds benefit the Emily K Center and its mission to inspire students to dream big, act with character and purpose, and reach their potential as leaders in the community.

The Emily K Center, a nonprofit organization in Durham, was established in 2006 and named in honor of Duke Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Krzyzewski’s mother. The Center serves as a college access hub in Durham, North Carolina, propelling academically-focused, low-income K-12 students and graduates toward success in college through its K to College programs while also offering college information and advising support to any local high school student through the Game Plan: College program. Through broader facility partnerships, thousands of additional students and community members use the Center as a place to convene, learn, and grow.
Support from organizations like yours allows the Emily K Center to continue to offer its programming free of charge to the students it serves. The Center recently celebrated its tenth year of operation and is proud to have grown from an organization serving 38 students in one program in its first year to more than 700 students across four programs this year. Your support of the Emily K Center and events like the Mother’s Day Ball is greatly appreciated.
